why are we away from home?

hmm... there has been qite alot of controversy surrounding the topic of seeking overseas approval to prove that local artistic groups are good enough....

well personally i dont see it as a bad move but more of a self-examination.
well all of us do it one way or another to improve and learn.
especially if it involves audiences and live performances.
i for one see performing outside of Singapore as an opportunity to evaluate if you connect with audiences from around the world or only on local soil.
i feel that a sucessful performer can appeal to all audiences no matter where you are performing!
well if this performance dont then we will have the chance to evaluate and seek out why is it that its boring and does not appeal to international audience pool.
reports on the sucess of local orchestras and artistic groups merely salut the flexibility and wide acceotance of local groups to overseas audiences.
thats all actually...

so give them a break and let them celebrate their small achievement for a while.
give them the space and courage to explore more terrain.
allow them the chance to grow.
